The method by which they are made and what they are made from. Alcohol content varies between them.

  1. Digital Age says:

    Beer and wine are fermented.
Distilled drinks are called liquor, or spirits, because they are strong: most are 80 proof, which means they are 40 percent ethanol and 60 percent water.
There are stronger drinks available, for example Wild Turkey 101, which is 101 proof.
But the higher the proof, the more of a burning effect it has. That’s why nobody actually drinks 180 proof grain alcohol; they mix it with melted sugar and flavorings to make liquers.
All those fancy liquers like Frangelico are mostly flavorings, sugar and grain alcohol. You are better off developing a taste for Scotch and Bourbon.

Whiskey is a type of liquor. All liquors are made from different plants or berries. Vodka is made from wheat, potatoes, and other grains. Gin is made from Juniper Berries. Tequila is made from Agave plants or agave juice. Whiskey and Bourbon are basically the same thing. Bourbon is whiskey that is traditionally made in bourbon county kentucky. It is often made from other various grains that have aged in barrels for a certain amount of time. Wine is made from grapes. Red wine is red because the skin is left on the grapes, while white wine has the skins taken off. Beer is made from barley and hops and it undergoes a thorough fermentation and carbonation process to taste the way it does.
Champagne is a type of carbonated wine.

The strongest is probably going to be the liquors. They can vary in percent alcohol as well as proof. Half of the proof is the percent alcohol (80 proof = 40% alcohol). The higher the proof, the stronger it is. However drinks depend on the serving size. One 12 oz. bottle of beer has the same alcohol as one 1 oz. shot of vodka. So it really varies.

Prices definitely vary based on quality and authenticity. For example, vodka that has been distilled more thoroughly and has more of a smooth taste will cost more than vodka that has only been filtered once.
    Hope all that helps

Beer and whiskey are made from fermented grains. Whiskey id distilled to concentrate the alcohol; beer is not. Wine is fermented from fruit, mostly grapes. If you distill it, you get brandy. If wine is given a second fermentation in the bottle, you get sparkling wine. Sparkling wine from the right kind of grapes in the right region is champagne, although other fines are sometimes called the same thing. Any distilled alcoholic beverage is a liquor. This includes whiskey, brandy, and others.

The strongest is a Polish vodka called Spiritus, too strong to drink straight (unless you have a death wish). Expense varies with the amount of processing and aging and with the rarity, compared to the demand.
